If you're trying to add a label onto the images, the answer is "No".

The freeware XnView image viewer can do that, however:

Not sure why Adobe have not got the same option to add a title using the file name minus the extension?

    Cheers again Brian

I think the answer is that most users of the Organizer won't bother to change the name of the media file given by the camera : they will use the 'caption' for that purpose.

In the print dialog of the Organizer, there is an option to add the caption in a print. For those who mainly work from scans, that reason is not so obvious.

Indeed. If going to the trouble of changing a filename to something specific, why not use the caption field which becomes part of the metadata and can be read by other programs.

Even when scanning I always file number sequentially and rate and label photos once viewed on the computer.

Does the album software not use the metadata fields?

In Elements you can batch process the metadata e.g. Caption or Description and add it to the photo using File à Process Multiple Files

OK sorry I cant think of an alternative. I can see from your site that you have put a lot of work into the file names which is a pity. I’m sure there must be a piece of software which would enable you to download the information into a table and then bulk edit out the dot jpeg after each description. Unfortunately I don’t know what it could be. xnview is probably your best bet.

Cool. Suggest you use the caption or description field in future - rather than renaming.

    Nice website.
