Which is not true, they are ALWAYS more than 900 pixels on the long side.

And how did you confirm this fact?

I have tried numerous different export settings and nothing seems to change this outcome.

Change to what? It should be very simple to vary the number of pixels on the long side, in the image sizing portion of the Export dialog box.

May I ask exactly what size image do you want to obtain? What size image are you starting with?

Confirmed by looking at the image sizes and both the long side and short side were in excess of 900.

Change to 900 pixels or greater on both the long side and short side. I've even told it exactly 900.

The size image I'm trying to obtain only needs satisfy the apparant website requirement of a minimum of 900 pixels on the long side. Starting image sizes vary but roughly 3456 x 5184.

If I just open a .jpeg file in a dirfferent editing program and crop the photo so that it's something less than about 7MB I can upload that file to the website fine. It's only when I open a file in Lightroom and do anything to it and then Publish or Export that the resulting file will not upload stating that message that the long side is not more than 900 pixels, when they are in fact more than 900.

I realize that this sounds strange and I'm sorry for that.

If you use the following settings in the Export Dialog (see screen shot) your image will be exactly 900 pixel on the long side.

I mean, what software told you the long and short side was in excess of 900? What numbers did you see, tell me an example for one exported photo, the exact number of pixels in each direction that you were seeing.

If you are seeing numbers in excess of 900, then this isn't a Lightroom problem, the problem is with the upload software

Thanks to both web-weaver (those are different, and better, setting than what I was using) and to dj_paige who NAILED it! It was a flash uploader problem and the basic uploader works just fine. Thank you all for a great first experience in this forum!
