DW stops responding after just about any action

Searching through posts to see if I can sort out a solution to this problem.

 

Using DW CS4 on Win7 64 bit

The problem seems to be getting worst, DW stops responding (but doesn't crach) after just about any action - opening files, saving, changing site etc etc.

 

Tried cache delete and the Display External files solutions but no change.

 

I though it might be linked to using Xammp as testing server but the problem occus whether the server is working or not.

 

Any ideas?

    Sorry for the trouble. I'm sure we can help you to sort this out.

     

    Does the problem occur if you have no documents open, and then create a new, blank document and work in that? (e.g. does it stop responding when you try to save)

     

    Who manufactured your computer?

     

    Do you have the latest updates for Windows installed? (e.g. Service Pack 1)

    Thanks for your response. Don't know why I've not worked throught it before but the problem occurs when I add recordsets...the more complex the php code and the more datasets I add, the slower things get. So it's to do with interaction with my testing server (Xammp).  It could also be an extension as outlined in Nancy O's reply. So will work through them.

     

     

    My computer is Mesh but the problem has not existed since I obtained the PC and loaded DW. It has 'arrived' at some point, and I didn't take the trouble to note when!!

     

    If you have any advice about problems associated with server interaction I would appreciate it.
