Hi,

I didn't get a single response to my appeal, so either no one else has seen this or it wasn't clear what is happening.

So, here are a couple of screenshots which may help.

The links used to poup in the correct place in the sub-topic (as shown below).

Now, in RH8 they pop-up in the wrong place in the sub-topic, despite the fact that nothing has changed (see below).

The same link as above does the following in Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome, i.e. it launches the popup in the wrong place.

Any ideas?

It works fine in IE, but none of our users use Windows, so that's of no use!

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have been on holiday during the last week.

I am using the version 8.0.2.208, so I think I am pretty much up-to-date, as I can't find any later patch.

Not sure if I already specified this, but I'm using RoboHelp HTML.

I guess I should log it as a bug, but I was hoping someone else may have experienced this.

I forgot to update this ticket previously, but downloading the ehlpdhtm file from this forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2034434#2034434) and using it actually seemed to fix this problem.

HOWEVER....

One of our engineers has noted a related problem (sigh!)...

If you have two identical links in a topic that go to a section in a sub-topic, when you click on the first, it goes to the correct line in the sub-topic.
When you click on the second, it goes to the correct sub-topic, but only to the topic title and not to the specified section.

Anyone know why this would be?

Hi Peter,

I've tried out both suggestions:

"Try running Tools > Update DHTML."

Tried this and it didn't seem to make any difference.The behaviour remains the same.

"The second is to add a second bookmark so that you call different bookmarks to the same place. I haven't tried it but it feels like it is worth a try."

This worked initially...
Hit the first link and it went to the correct section.

Hit the second link and it went to the correct section.

However, hit the first link again, and it then went to the title of the linked topic.

The same applied to the second link.

A third link that goes to a completely different bookmark in the subtopic does the same thing. Fine first click. Second click, goes to subtopic title.

Thanks for the suggestions. They were definitely worth trying.

I tried this too and got effectively the same result.
Launching each poup link first time around launches the correct section of the subtopic in the popup window.
Second click on any of those links takes you incorrectly to the subtopic title.

Shall I log this as a bug?

No I was just launching the next available link to launch another popup.
But, if I try clicking on the link a second time to close it, it just relaunches the popup incorrectly showing the subtopic title.

I don't think this trick will work here but try putting a ? before the second # symbol.

Just tried that and it makes no difference.

Beyond that you can report it but I am not sure if it is a bug or just the way HTML works. Can you set up a similar test in Dreamweaver or any HTML editor?http://twitter.com/petergrainge

I will report it as a bug, as it only seems to occur in Firefox.
I'll try to set up a similar example to test.
