Spry Horizontal menu works locally but not online.

Jul 11, 2012 4:30 AM

Hi people I built a site in Dreamwever CS5.5 and used a spry widget menu. It works great in firefox when I run it locally, but when I try to access a page from the online server it's rubbish. I've uploaded all of the JS files a couple of times and even copied some to multiple locations but still no joy. Any advice would be appreciated, the website is to promote a very noble cause. website is www.stopthetoad.com.au

This is the message that I get when I try to load SpryWidget.js

    Not Found

The requested URL /Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryWidget.js was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at www.stopthetoad.com.au Port 80

Have a look at the online Spry-IU-1.7/includes folder and re-upload the file.

Another possiblity is that SpryWidget.js was corrupted when uploading. Try another FTP client to upload same.

And get rid of those bloody toads!!!!

    Hi Davo,

The file can now be found, but has been corrupted during upload. Try replacing (line 10 of the document)

    <script src="../includes/SpryWidget.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

    with

    <script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/ui/includes/SpryWidget.js"></script>

This will work until Adobe pulls the plug.

PS  thanks for the kind words and I'll keep my vocabulary to a PG status for your daughter's sake.
