Problem with liquify - Blue screen, no picture

Hi, I've just started using Photoshop CS6 via Creative cloud. (Before i used a DVD version of CS5)

I'm having a weird problem with the liquify filter:

When I want to open a picture in the filter it shows only a blue screen... Why? What happened?

At first I thought maybe it could'nt work with the dng format and then I tried opening a jpeg in the liquify filter, same problem.

I've had no problems in CS5 and I'm working on the same computer.

Best regards

Hanne

I've moved this inquiry to the Photoshop General Discussion forum.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Yep, sounds like another display driver issue.  Liquify now uses OpenGL shader programming to accelerate its operation, and your display driver has to provide the proper OpenGL facilities for this to work.

Assuming you're using a desktop PC, you can generally visit the web site of the manufacturer of your video card and find their latest display driver for download.  Once you install the update, make sure you reboot (they don't all make you do that), then start Photoshop, re-enable the [  ] Use Graphics Processor setting, then restart Photoshop before testing.

Laptop users, by contrast, usually get updated display drivers from their laptop manufacturer, and Mac users have to get them via OS updates from Apple.

What kind of video card do you have, and what operating system are you running?

Great!  Thanks for following-up and letting us know the updated AMD display driver did the trick.  I'm assuming you got Catalyst 12.6, which I find to be quite stable with Photoshop CS6.
