My product title is showing the catalog name, why is this?

If you see that your web page title on a product is showing the products catalog, this is because you have not added a product title.

 

Currently product title field for products can be found under - options. In your product. If this is blank you will need to add in your product title.

    Hi,

    I have got same problem.... bad for SEO

     

    I use this in Module temples --> Individual Product - Large:

     

    <head>

         <script type="text/javascript">

              function titlechange()

              {

                   document.title = "{tag_name}";

              }

         </script>

    </head>

    <body onload="titlechange()">

     

    Qestion for BC:

    Is that a temporary error?

    That wont be seen by search engines they will read the catalog name.

    It is a fallback. If you look at the post it is an FAQ. I actually give the answer
    More options - product title - add the product title.

    My mistake, thx Is there any possibility to be automatically added title as name of product?

    Hi Liam,

     

    I have the product title field in each product, yet it still prints the catalog title?

     

    I'm using Liquid Markup is there somthing im missing here ?

    Liquid is in Alpha, far from production ready and will encounter a variety of issues. You should not be using it. So you will see things like this. Run a login with liquid tags in your layout, go to a web app detail view or system message page and you will see liquid wont be working at all.

    Hey Liam,

     

    It used to be that the product name would populate the title by default (as shown by this help pop-up)

    Lately if you've got a blank product title then you just get the catalog name. When did this change? And shouldn't BC amend that pop-up?

    At least 3 years. Tooltip has always been incorect.
