I am working on some basic tutorials and am having trouble. I am utilizing Camtasia 6 for my screen captures and am trying to import them into Pre10. When I export(share/produce) my project, the text from the Camtasia video segments is very blurred. I have tried producing and capturing at different sizes through Camtasia, but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Can you show us a screen-cap from both PrE and Camtasia?
Depending on the compression of AV files, and also on how they are being displayed, different fonts can look quite different.
For anything going to DVD, or BD, I like a Bold, or maybe even a Black san-serif font.
For some general discussions on Camtasia and CamStudio footage, there might be some useful tips in this ARTICLE. Jeff Bellune, MOD on PrPro & Encore, does a lot of tutorials with Camtasia, and Premiere Pro. He commented several times in that article. While he mentions PrPro, mostly CS 3, the majority of his comments will translate to PrE too, with but a little interpolation needed.
What resolution is the area you're recording with Camtasia?
And what are the project settings of your Premiere Elements project?
Obviously, if you're shooting a 1680x1080 video screen and you're working in a 720x480 DV project, you're not going to have greatly reduced detailing.
Also, Camtasia may be recording in a codec (ie, the Tech Smith codec) that doesn't digest well in Premiere Elements. If that's the case, Windows MovieMaker or iMove may be a much better choice for an editor. Premiere Elements is primarily designed to work with camcorder video.
Sorry for the delay, I have been out of the office for awhile.
Here are some screenshots of the issues. ( I can't figure out any other way to insert them into the discussion.)
I am not too computer savvy, so I appreciate your patience and help!
I appreciate any and all help. Let me know if there is more information I need to get to you.
