No problems uploading 1024x768 smooth scroll PDF folios, they appear in my Content Viewer Library instantly on ipad2. But when I create a smooth scrolling PDF folio at the higher resolution, the only way i can preview it is by connecting to USB, (which displays it fine). The Content Viewer library updates but nothing happens. Folio Producer says my folio is "in the cloud" then why won't my ipad2 Content Viewer pull it down? I also note that in Folio Producer:Organizer, the content viewer version is listed as "unspecified". Is this the problem? how do I tell Folio Producer which version I have?
(In case you are wondering I'm using the higher 2046 res because I wasnt happy with the 1024 result - rasterisation DPS is doing to PDF overlays, very apparent when use Pinch & zoom)
thanks.
2048x1536 folios don't look good or perform well on the iPad 1 / 2. By design, 2048x1536 folios don't show up on iPad SD devices -- only iPad HD. You've figured out one of the two ways to get a 2048x1536 folio on an iPad SD -- the other method is to create a single-issue development app with an embedded 2048 folio.
Are you creating a single-issue app or a multi-issue app? If single-issue, your best bet is to create a 1024x768 folio with PDF image format. If multi-issue, create renditions.
I'm creating a single issue app, for ipad2 user on the other side of the world, that until know, I have been "sharing" with successfully.
Is there any way I can improve the resolution of a smooth scroll PDF article without resorting to 2046 folio? It seems DPS is doing some rasterisation to my PDF overlays in the background that i can't prevent. Its ruining the pinch and zoom result. It doesnt matter what resolution I make the image placed in Indesign for my PDF smooth scroll, the result is always pixelated on zoom.
