I am trying to sign up for creative cloud to use the subsciption based CS6 suite however when I go to the My Adobe section the screen goes nuts and starts toggling between Adobe UK and Adobe Australia. Here's why.
3 years ago when i lived in another country (England) I created an Adobe ID. Now I live in Australia and want to subscribe to Creative Cloud which costs $64 a month.After talking to the Help Support at Adobe I was told that my current Adobe ID;
A - Cannot be updated to include my new address and payment details in Australia
B - Cannot be deleted from the System
The only option I have is to create a new account with a DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS. I only have 1 email address and I don't why I should create another one just to suite Adobe protocols. I was able to update my itunes account in the same manner however I was told specifically by the Call centre manager for Adobe that this was not possible. It is not convenient for me to create another email address because I want to be aware of the updates and emails Adobe send me. Am I expecting to much from Adobe? This is Kafka-esque. Adobe don't want my money. Strange.
Hey Mossco_p_coltraine,
I have a suggestion for a possible solution and wanted to run it by you. Support was correct regarding not being able to change the country once set in our system. I completely understand you not wanting the hassle of having to setup a second email address. A solution might be this, some email providers will still forward your messages even if you append some additional info to the name, so if your email address was bob@gmail.com, you would also receive email sent to bob+other@gmail.com. You still get messages sent to bob+other@gmail.com on the bob@gmail.com account. This way we could create a second email address for you and just add +adobe or +other to the name but it would all still be going to your original email address. If this sounds like a feasible workaround to you let me know. I would test whether it works with your email provider first. Try sending yourself an email message but just append +other to the name on your email address, if you still receive it, this workaround should work.
Also, do you have subscriptions to Adobe Revel or Acrobat products?
If you wanted to proceed with this, post a reply letting me know, and I'll create a case for support asking if they could set it up this way for you. You would probably still need to contact then again but I would leave instructions for them.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your comments. I will do as you advise. I have a gmail account ma.moss@gmail.com. On my laptop I have the new CS6 cloud subscription through my work account. I want to replace this with my own private account.
Cheers

Thanks for the follow up Mark,
It should be possible to change the email address for a particular account, not sure if your current work account has an England address, but when support creates the new account they should be able to put whatever email and physical address you need. The only potentional pitfall might be if you had any current Revel or Acrobat subscriptions, if you and they were associated with a prior email address that can sometimes break things. I created case 208803515 for support on what to do when you call.
Cheers,
-Dave
