Try updating your graphics adapter drivers.

Please don't double-post.  I deleted your other topic.

From Bing: do you have any 3rd-party fonts (not from Adobe or MS) on your system?  One or more may be corrupt and causing the gdiplus error.

    Try this free program:

    FontFrenzy | SD Software

It will help you manage your fonts so you can troubleshoot any that might be corrupt.  Be sure to take a snapshot of your fonts before you start deleting or rearranging them in FontFrenzy.

Start by deleting half your fonts, then seeing if Pr/AE exit normally.  If you still get the error, then restore the deleted half and delete the other half.  If the error stops, then you've found the group of fonts that have the problem.  Repeat until you find the bad font.

If the error continues after deleting the second group of fonts, then it's likely not a corrupt font issue.

EDIT: DejaVu, installed by OpenOffice, was known to cause problems in CS3 by crashing the titler.  I haven't had any problems with it since.

    Jeff,

From the PS forum, Chris Cox commented that OpenOffice had "fixed" a few fonts, that caused errors, including DejaVu. If that is correct, one should be able to just update OpenOffice, and get the new fonts. No mention was made of having to physically replace those offending fonts.

Have you tried editing in a non-Matrox project, or disabling the Matrox card completely?

Check out the GTX 670 - I'm not in the market so didn't really pay a LOT of attention, but I think I read a message that it has 4 connections
