Help, why can't I customise colors?

Jul 12, 2012 9:45 PM

Hi

I am being snagged in the most dumb annoying way

I need to change the font color of some Text Animations. In need to use a very specific color range as laid out in the company graphic standard.

In Cap 3 I had all this stuff (fig1) to create the colors via setting the Red/Green/Blue balance.

In Cap 5 this has been replaced by this window (fig 2)

It doesn't seem to have a custom colors function.

Can anyone tell me what am I missing here?

You're missing the field at the top of the color picker that allows you to specify hexadecimal values for colors.

For text animations you can't save paint chips of your custom colors.  It will, however, default to the last color you used when adding a new text animation.

For text captions, buttons, rollover captions, not sure what else, when you select the text color from the palette, or specify a custom color, there's a row of paint chips below the palette that save your most recent selections.

    HI there

I'm not sure if you are allowed to install freeware. If so, perhaps this will help. There is an awesome little freeware utility called Color Cop that allows you to use an eyedropper to choose a color. It then reports back the RGB values as well as the HEX value for the color.

I use this guy at least twice a week. And it's free!

    Cheers... Rick
