And what kind of file are you trying to open? From where? On which operating system? You need to be more specific.

It is a file is out of OSAP off the internt and I have saved it my documents, it is just a document I need to print off the OSAP web page. and when I go to print it Adobe Reader wants a password. I have Windows XP on my computer.

Sounds like the document has restrictions on printing. You would need the password.
