CS6 compatible with CS4?

im in the creative cloud with Indesign CS6, but a customer wants me to do something in CS4. Is it possible to work in the cloud with CS4 or do i have to work in CS6 and save the file as a CS4-file?

    While you could backsave using IDML there is no guarantee that the layout will be the same.

     

     

     

    The text will surely reflow and any new CS6, CS5.5 or CS5 features that you take advantage of will be lost.

     

     

     

    In short, If they need it in CS4 then do it in CS4.

    Creative Cloud does not support CS4; at times just CS6.

    To prepare files for your customer you have to export to IDML. With all negative implications: new features are not supported, text will flow differently because of an older composition engine…

    And no, you don't have access to CS4 in the cloud.

    And what about CS5.5? I have also that version, and CS3, but thats too old

    Only CS6 products (as well as Muse, Lightroom, etc.) are available on the Cloud.

    Basically the same…
    If your client is using CS4 and want the files in CS4 format, you have no secure option, but to build and deliver in CS4.

     

    Maybe your best bet nothing substantial will change is using CS3 and asking your client to deliver back INX out of CS4 if files will go back and forth.
