Whe i try to start Acrobat X, nothing happens. Acrobat X does not start.
No error message, no splashscreen, no entry in Windows-Logs.
The task is visible in windows taskmanager for very short time, just noticeable.
I have installed CS6 and all other programs are running.
I have installed the update 10.1.3 for acrobat from adobe website.
This error encountered for the first time today.
Since Updateing to CS6 from CS5.5 some weeks ago, everything worked fine.
Thank you for any suggestions,
Klaus Rambow
I'm having similar problems here. I have CS4 Master Suite on my system. Have now added CS6 Master Suite. Rest of programs working without problem as far as I've noticed, but Acrobat X has never opened - just realized I can't read my PDFs anymore.
When I try to open Acrobat X, I just get the brief spinning wheel as Windows 7, 64 bit tries to open program. Then nothing - no error messages; just fails to open anything.
I tried reinstalling just Acrobat X from my Adobe Download and it looked like installation went through without problem.. I now have shortcut in my Start area, and a few pdfs are listed next to Acrobat X Pro - but still have same behavior where Acrobat never opens. Acrobat X Pro does show up in my list of programs now under control panel> uninstall programs. Not sure what to try from here.
I have googled a lot and i found some hints to the adobe logfiles in the users temp directory.
I checked them and found some lines pointing to a licence problem.
The solution for me was the following:
- uninstall Acrobat, leave the rest of CS6 untouched
- restart PC
- start Photoshop
- install Acrobat X from CS6-DVD, enter licence-code in setup
- start Photoshop again
- start Acrobat, search for Updates and install them
I am not sure if starting Photoshop does have any effect concerning this problem, be i have read that this worked in another case, so is just did it.
I have wasted so much time on this problem, that these seconds does not matter.
Until now (approx. 8 hours after fixing), everything works fine.
May be this will help some ot the other guys experiencing this weird problem.
Hi KlausRa & reindeer4,
It sounds like you both may be experiencing an issue with Acrobat's activation. Could you try the solution outlined here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4507227
Let us know how it goes.

Took all of about a minute to fix it with the method you linked to. (Deactivating photoshop, closing photshop, opening acrobat pro, entering serial number . . . and suddenly both programs work)
Thanks so much for the help; I was already envisioning uninstalling the entire Master Suite, battling with clean up utitilities, reinstalls, re-removals and so forth.
This was much better! ![]()
Thanks again.
