Transferring presets

I was working in one collection applying presets. I did a lot of work. I should have been in a different collection (which has almost the same collection of images). This second collection is really the one I want to appply the prests to. Can I copy somehow the work I did in collection number one to collectio number 2? I'm in LR4.1

    I don't know of a way to do that, and it's also not necessary.

    When you put an image into a collection, it is not physically moved or copied but only referenced as to be in this collection. Any edits you apply to an image in a collection is really applied to the "original" image on the hard drive - which does not mean that the image file is changed but that the data set of your edit is applied to the "original".

     

    If an image is in more than one collection, and you apply edits to the image in one collection, the edits will "automatically" be reflected for this image in the other collection(s).

    This is so, because there is only one image that is edited but it can be displayed in several collections.

    Thank you very much for this explaiantion. I have a better ubderstanding of LR now.
