Adobe did an automatic update sometime within the past couple weeks to the most recent version of Flashplayer which, of course, they recommend. Unfortunately, it locks up my internet. I always get 'Yahoo.com (or whatever website) is not responding'. When I uninstall flash player, the internet works fine. Since it's 'free' I don't expect much, but you can't really operate on the web without it. No videos (news, youtube, etc.) and even the weather radar will work without it. How to I get back to a functional version of flash player? They either don't offer support for their 'free' stuff or they just make the information impossible to find. I have disabled accelerators as suggested in one forum but that didn't fix the issue.

What is your installed Flash Player version?
Does the same thing happen if you use another browser, like Firefox?

Last version I tried was 11.3.300.265. Don't have Firefox. Should that make a difference? (Currently operating on IE 9. Can't say for certain if the IE or Adobe 'update' caused the problem but as soon as I reinstall it, the problem recurs.)

Adobe is not cooperating. Every time I try to run a previous version, an Adobe pop-up appears saying 'The Installation Encountered Errors' (see attachment) My only option is to 'Quit' which cancels the download. How do I get around this?

There is no attachment; you need to upload attachments directly in the forum editor.
Can you post the contents of the FlashInstall.log files from C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash and C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?
P.S. what is your Windows version?

Learn something new everyday. It basically just comes up with a message that I can't get around and stops my attempts to load a previous version.
I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium.
