Program Error

I have been having a few problems with dng files, after I have processed in LR4 updated to 4.1 I then go into CS2 just to finish off metadata and convert to 8bit all goes well
until I try and save the file, I enter the file and format then hit the save tab only to reveal an error box stating (could not complete your request because of a program error). Windows 7 home Premium 64bit

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

In addition to the suggestions above, can you do a Save_As, with probably a new file name, or at least a new location?

Files will save as tiffs

Is there any chance you've mixed plug-ins from a prior version of Photoshop into the current version, either by coping folder(s) full of plug-in files or by setting the Extra plug-ins folder preference? Doing so can cause strange File - Save behavior.
