Updates

Jul 15, 2012 5:18 AM

Probably yet another silly question to ask, but here goes.... When i click on my help right at the top, a menu pops down and in that list is "update" which in my case is grayed out. How do I manage to activate that so that I can get my updates? Many Thanks.

That would normally mean you have an unauthorized, unupdateable copy of Photoshop.

The CS6 beta, for instance, was not able to be updated.

A pirated, cracked copy would also exhibit that attribute.

Have you tried to register your copy with Adobe and have you tried activating it?

FYI, on a PC at least, Help - Updates... works just fine in Photoshop CS6 during the trial (i.e., without being registered / activated).

Yes, Noel, that is correct.  That's how the trial works, as opposed to the beta  That's one of the reasons why I suspect an authorized copy in this case.
