What does the deactivation do in CS6 Web & design premium?

I just bought web & design premium CS6 (student and teacher edition) and I noticed in photoshop there is this deactivation thing. What does it do? Does this mean I can install CS6 on multiple computers, and only activate the one I actually use, and deactivate the rest?
