Hi there.
I have PS Essentials 8 on my laptop which has the current Windows Vista OS. I use PSE via my Wacom tablet (which is how I got the PSE8: from/via Wacom). I have found that after a period of hours working on a picture in full edit format, I loose the ability to use any chosen foreground color. I can erase but apply a color. Choose whatever color I will, all I get is a pale blue. I thought perhaps that my laptop might be getting too hot over time, so I shut it down for a few hours. Result: same issue when I go back to my project. A quick search in the support forum shows no similar problem so I'm posting here.
Anybody has a possible solution, you need to keep it real simple: I'm notoriously dimwitted on computer-speak.
Thanks!
Reset the Editor's Preferences: Hold down your Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys when starting the Editor, and keep the keys held down until you see the prompt asking if you want to delete the Preferences. Answer "Yes" and the Preferences will be re-built. You may have to minimize any open windows to see that prompt.

Sorry it took so long, life interferes with artwork.
Tried it. Got no prompt at all anywhere asking to reset preferences. Went to Edit-->Preferences and looked at everything I was offered there. Nothing such as you said to look for. Indeed, minimized the few windows I had open: nothing hiding behind any of them either. It has been suggested to me that the "problem" will go away if I wait long enough. Not so. It's been a week and it still exists as of this date.
Thanks nonetheless!
