I an using InDesign V7.5. It's been working OK for a couple of months. Suddenly I start getting an "Out of Memory" message that keeps popping up. Checking my activity monitor it shows InDesign using around 750Mb of ram with still a Gig of ram unused.
Can anyone shad any light on what is going on. Have tried zapping the PRAM.
Phil
Hold down Cmd and select About InDesign. What is the 3-dotted full version number?
What OS release are you using?
"Out of Memory" generally indicates a failure of InDesign to properly manage the memory it has allocated to it, rather than the machine or the operating system actually running out of memory. It's an internal bookeeping issue...
More information about what you have open and what kind of documents you are working on might help. Do you have Live Preflight enabled?
Divide and conquer...
Make a copy of the file. Delete half the pages. If the problem persists, delete half or what's left and try again. If the problem goes away, put back the deleted half and delete the half you originally left. Repeat until you isolate one page, then use the same technique to isolate the offending object.
