adobe issue

Jul 1, 2012 12:25 PM

Adobe has blocked several of my existing docs and stopped access to the internet because I tried to convert one pdf job application into a word doc so that my daughter could complete it more effectively .

Before I can use the Adobe file converter on my machine instead of my daughter's  need to unblock my docs to access the internet ..Please help asap ...as it's a real problem for us ...

    Hi again maurecle,

The Adobe ExportPDF service is a web-based service for converting PDF files to Word or Excel and cannot enable or disable your ability to access the internet.

Could you provide some more detail about the steps you're taking and if/when you get an error?  Perhaps we can provide some advice.

    Hi Maureen,

As explained before the problem occurred after I tried to convert one PDF file ( SACCS Student Practioner job application) into a word text document. I then had / still have the message :

" Adobe Reader could not open SSScheduler.exe because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( e.g. sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) ."

This message would indicate that you're trying to open an executable (.exe) file in Adobe Reader.  Adobe Reader is only capable of opening PDF files.

I purchased the AdobeExportPDF service expecting this to enable me to rectify the situation...and hopefully convert the SACCS job application into a suitable doc to be filled in ...but after converting it to a Word document and then a Rich Text format ...the job application is still not viable as a doc to fill in ...because text does not run right across the page ...

While the ExportPDF service will allow you to convert PDF files to Word files, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to fill out the form within Word.  Word handles text in a very different way than the PDF format.  Can you send me the PDF form to me?  I'll take a look as soon as I receive it to see if there's something I can do for you.

    Hi Maureen,

I got the private message you sent, but I never did receive the file you were referencing.  I'm also not sure what you meant by "assist me in unblocking my desktop files that have been turned into adobe files preventing me from accessing the internet".  Could you provide some more detail?  I'll see what I can do to help.
