I have used Spry to wire-up static XML data (in a local site file) with my website. I also found an example of doing this with dynamic XML data coming from Coldfusion.
The question I have what if the back-end web server type is not known and I simply invoke a URL and get an XML payload back. Just like the URL from Google weather API.
Is there a way to map this, say if I can create the XSD or use some sample XML?
Normally XML data cannot be transferred across domains, hence the normal SpryXMLDataSet will not work.
Arnaut Kazemier has written a JS file that uses YQL, this will accept cross domain XML data.
Have a look here https://github.com/3rd-Eden/Spry-YQL-DataSet and go to examples-->sushi.html to see what he has done to map Sushi Bars in San Francisco.
