LR 3.6, Win 7 ultimate 64 bit. Yes, I am so afraid of all the talk I hear about LR 4 being slow (it DID slowed down from 2 to 3) that I still work in 3.6
It is no longer showing/updating my export presets (see left column). Whether I add folders from the OS or from withing LR, they are not visible. If I select them in FOLDER CHOOSE (see right side of the screen shot), then it will export them properly to the right folder but I have no way to UPDATE FOLDER WITH CURRENT SETTINGS.
Help, I am working on a project with deadline
THanks you so much in advance

I can't see your screen shot so it is difficult to see what you are talking about exactly.
Normally you can Right-click (CTRL Click on Mac) on any export preset and choose Update with Current Settings.
I don't see the presets, that's my problem. If I don't see them, I cannot update them. LR is no longer showing any new presets I add (this is the left column I'm talking about). Do you, by chance, know how I can insert a screen shot, other than just paste it?
I tried this, but then it asks for a file name, and all I have is a screenshot which is currently in the clipboard. I also converted the screen shot into a PDF file and tried to insert this, but it told me UNAUTHORIZED CONTENT
When you save a new preset, you aren't by chance saving into a grouping? If you click the [Add] button what does it say in the [folder] section of the ensuing dialog?
Is there a grouping that matches with a small black triangle next to it? Click on the triangle and it will expand the group.
Open an image editor. It doesn't have to be fancy. Windows Paint will work. Photoshop will work very well. Open a new document and paste your clipboard in it. Save the file. Then you can use the camera icon and specify the file you just saved. You have to save it as jpeg, bmp, or some compatible image type.
Thank you so much! Here are the two shots: 1) what LR shows me 2) what the OS shows. Notice that the two WATCH2012WEB and WATCH2012PRINT are missing in LR. If I select them (under choose), it will put the exports there but I have to change the settings everytime, since I cannot right click on the preset and tell it to UPDATE WITH CURRENT
1. I cannot right click on something that does not exist (the preset is not visible to LR)
2. If I create it IN LR, with ADD, it will stick, but it will not show in OS
This all started this morning, never had similar problem, have been using LR for 3 yrs now
The preset and the folder have nothing to do with one-another. Creating a preset in LR does not create a folder in the OS. Creating a folder in the OS does not make it visible in the existing preset panel.
A preset may point to an existing folder, and create a subfolder if you check the Put in Subfolder: box and populate with a name that doesn't already exist. But that subfolder creation doesn't happen until you invoke the preset.
Sorry to disagree, my background is in computers before photography. Up until this morning, I'd create my folders in the OS and then, once I point them to LR, they would show in the left column where the presets are. Example, I would create a folder BIGPRINT in the OS. Then, when exporting for a large poster, in LR I'd ADD the preset and point LR to that folder for storage. From there on, BIGPRINT will show in the left column. Currrently, I cannot do this

Please explain how you point a folder to Lightroom in the OS.
Apparently the thread opener solved his problem since the discussion stopped here.
I have a similar problem and I can't think of a solution.
WIN 7 64 bit
After setting up my system on a new C:/ Drive (SSD), I successfully restored LR and all Settings and continued working.
Then I noticed that there was a strange problem with the export settings.
I have a large number of export setting groups and settings and they have all been restored. All but their paths!
No matter which setting I am selecting, it won't choose the export path I originally saved with the setting, but rather it will have remembered the path I used with the last export - in any of the saved export settings!
If I change a setting and right click to "save with current settings", it will save any new settings but the path!!?
It's not too critical but very annoying.
Can anyone help?`
