2 Monitors diff' size but same make??

Jul 18, 2012 12:04 AM

Hi I'm new to the PC world (recently convereted from rotten Apples).

being  green to the pc monitor side of things so, I was wondering if someone could fire me some advice on a setup for a monitor configuration I am thinking of.

I purchased a Dell - Ultra Sharp U2711 (27-inch) Monitor with PremierColour and would like to have a second monitor... BUT would it be a bad idea - if my second monitor was the Dell - UltraSharp U2410 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor.

What I'm basically wondering is - is it a bad idea to mix a 27' and a 24'inch monitor together. I want the second (smaller) monitor to be used for switching between output to extra screen relestate. I kind'a don't like using two monitors for the whole program, I prefer editing off a single monitor and using one mainly just for viewing most of the time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

No problem using different sizes. The choice is often made on non-technical aspects, like available surface area on the desk, budget, aesthetics, and the like.
