It appears to me that the original filename is NOT retained when you import pictures from another catalog. Is that right? Here is why I'm asking -- When I imported from the camera, I renamed all the pictures. Now I have imported from that catalog into another catalog. In the second catalog, it seems that the original filename is lost -- I can't rename using the original filename from the camera.

When copying or moving photos into the catalog during import, you can specify how the files are named.

I didn't make clear my question. Is the original filename retained when a photo is imported from a catalog? I've editted my question to clarify the question. The impact for me is that I cannot rename in the second catalog using the original filename (the name on the membory card). A second and greater impact is that the "suspected duplicates" feature no longer works for the renamed files.
