All,
Here are my specs :
1) QTP 11.00; 2)PDF Reader 10.1.1; 3) APTT Plugin 10.1.1; 4) Windows 7; 5) Installed Path : C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins.
I am see the ACROQTP Addin in my QTP, But when i tried to record any pdf doc and try to capture some PDF Table cell data or any data, its not able to capture anything.
I would appreciate your responses.
Vimal
Hi Vimal
We have lately found that due to some of our changes in Reader 10.1.2 release, the plugins have broken.
They still continue to work with Adobe Reader 10.1.0 and 10.1.1 ON ANY ENVIRONMENT WITH ANY QTP VERSION.
For the time being, before Adobe roll out a fix, we would suggest you not to upgrade the Adobe Reader versions.
Thanks and Regards
Hi Vimal,
I don't know whether QTP 11 works with the APTT plug-in. I have in the past successfully used QTP 10 on a test machine with a setup similar to yours: Reader 10.1.1, APTT 10.1.1, and Windows 7.
My one memory of a hiccup with Windows 7 is that you need to install the APTT plug-in using Run As Administrator, otherwise it will fail to install correctly. I cannot remember how it failed. It's possible it behaved as you have observed: showing up in the Addins list, but not actually doing anything useful when you try to record or object spy using PDF objects.
It's worth a shot: unregister APTT, then re-register it using Run As Administrator.
Otherwise you might need to suspect QTP 11, and try with QTP 10 if you can.
Cheers,
- Brent
Yes, I have tried with Adobe Reader 10.1.1 + QTP 11.0 + APTT Plugins for 10.1 + Windows 7
and it worked fine for me without any issues.
May be as Brent mentioned, you may need to register the plugins as Administrator or otheriwse just turn off your machine UAC from Control Panel.
Thanks and Regards
All,
I've tried the similar combination was RRJoshi has done except it's WinXP SP3. Not sure if i am getting the functionality that you all are with the APTT.
I am getting WINObj: AVPView when I try to recognize objcts. I can apply a text checkpoint though but it usually picks up the outlined body of text as garbage (since the PDF window is probably too small and it can't recognize the onscreen text properly).
Am I missing something?
Thank you
