So; my MBPR OSX 10.7.4 PP6 session will NOT playback video (only audio) showing one frame of the HDV footage in my HDV sequence no matter what I do including permissions repair fix.
However - I click the "Workspace:" option at the top right of the primary PP bar and change "Editing" to "Editing (CS 5.5)" and of course the layout changes, but as well, the video will play back.
WTH...is this not supposed to only change workspace options and layout? Why on earth would it make unplayable PP play? And what's making PP not play in the first place?
Thx....
Does this kb article apply?
Playback stops, loops | Soundbooth, Premiere Pro | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 | Mac OS

Thanks Jeff. I always run as root and tried this but no joy. Again it's wierd...I launch Pr with standard "editing layout" and video won't play. Change to "5.5 editing" and video plays.
MBPR 16/256 10.7.4.
I did install apps via Migration assistant when I got the new computer if that helps...
Thanks again for trying...
What happens when you start changing frame sizes and frame locations in the Standard layout? Does playback return?
Yours is definitely an odd issue, but it may be related to your graphics adapter driver. Also, have you tried to force hardware-accelerated Mercury Playback by hacking any files? If so, undo that particular change.
