Sony RX100 support

Jul 18, 2012 7:29 AM

Just wondering if there was any indication when the next camera update would be, and if the Sony RX100 is slated to be added to the list of supported cameras?

Camera Raw is updated about four times each year.  The next update will probably be released "within" the next six weeks.  The only way to know if your camera will be supported is if it is on the list.  Almost everyone here on this forum is just a user like you.  Adobe doesn't make any announcements about release dates or cameras that will be supported.  It is simply a "wait and see" situation.

ACR and the Adobe DNG Converter are updated in an orderly fashion from three to four times a year.  So you'll see a new version every three to four months.

The release of any new camera model has no bearing on this.

Jim replied while I was taking a phone call.  Good job, Jim!

Since I am using an older camera that has been supported for quite some time, I haven't kept track of release dates.  But that sounds about right to me.

The LuLa review of the rx100 should answer your 'if' question, but not your 'when'.
