I'm trying to install Photoshop on my new laptop (MBP using system 10.7.4) and it refuses to accept my system admin password. How do I get past this?

You might want to post to a Mac forum, and ask about password recovery.

While you might get an answer here, you'll probably get more, and quicker in a Mac-specific OS forum.

    Good luck,

Adobe's installer should be asking for a S/N.

Are you sure that the dialog is being generated by Adobe, and not by your OS?

Note: I am a PC-only person, so do not know Mac's, and how installations might differ between the platforms.

    Good luck,

Also, perhaps post a screen-cap of that dialog box, as that might help others to help you.

    Good luck,

That sounds like the OS is asking you for your system password before allowing the Adobe installer to proceed with the installation.

It could be something as simple as your having the Caps Lock key down, or somehow mistyping your password.

You can indeed re-set the system password when you forget it if you have the Mac OS install DVD.
