Download of AI Freezing My MBPro

I've downloaded ID and PS without issue, but for the past 24 hours, I've tried several times to download Illustrator, and my system, including the clock, completely freezes midway through download. Recommendations for troubleshooting?

Could you try downloading a trial version and converting it to licensed using the "License This Software" option
