I can't not import any audio only files into Prelude, I thought this was a limitation of Prelude, but looking at the supported media it certainly looks like it is supported. I've tried WAV files from the H4N, commercial SFX libraries in WAV format, converted WAVs to Aiff. Export raw recorded audio as AIFF and WAV and all give me the same "import XMP failed!" error message.
Can anyone import audio only files into Prelude?
Just discovering this myself. Odd that the "Ingest" dialog box has a drop-down to filter for files "of type" that includes a number of audio-only formats.
Can anyone @ Adobe confirm this is a future feature (a big reason for many moving the Creative Cloud... new features quickly and without additional cost...)
Thanks,
Sherm
Shermbo,
We cannot comment on future development. Feature requests from users help us in our prioritization of new features, though, you can submit from http://adobe.com/go/wish
Please do take the time to respond to "Why is this feature important to you?" as this helps us better understand the workflow you're trying to achieve.
Thanks.
I know this is an old thread, but yes, if the file is listed as an import option, then it should be importable. That's an hour I won't get back! I do think that the application should allow the importing of audio only files. Most of the work I do is sound design, and therefore there are sounds with no video in the pre-production phase. Maybe in future releases?
