Adobe Software Crashing

Hi there, I've recently found a problem with all my Adobe porgrams (all part of the master collection) Everytime i open any of the programs, i get the dreaded "spiral of death" loading wheel and the program crashs!  any ideas why this could be? thanks in advance!

    You've given us absolutely no information to help you. What version of InDesign? What O/S?

     

    Do you have crash reports?

    And what have you done for trouble-shooting so far (trashing prefs, system maintenance, …)?

    Have a read of this thread to try and repair the preference files for the apps

    Im using a Mac OS X Version 10.6.7, Its adobe Master Collection CS5.5   and ive tried using adobe updater, and trashing preferences using the keyboard shortcut method as the program crashes before i get a chance to go any further!!  Its not just Indesign, illustrator, photoshop and adobe lightroom all have the same problem!!

    Create a new user account on your Mac and try running the software from there.

    It could be helpful (but isn't always) to see a crash report. I doubt it's SING if it happens in all applications, but you never know.

     

    In any case, you can put your crash reports on pastebin.com and put links to them here so we can take a look.

    thank you all for your suggestions, ive tried the programs in another user account and they still crash.  Do you think i should uninstall and then re install the programs to see if that works?  can i do this using the same serial number etc on the box?

    I'm barely competent at reading ID crash reports, nad have no experience with Illustrator reports at all, but just before the crash Illy was doing a lot of stuff with type, and it looks to me like the crash was in Apple code, not Adobe (though I wouldn't swear to that), so my gut feeling is that you have a bad font or a problem with a font manager perhaps.
