Configurator and Scripts

Jul 10, 2012 12:40 AM

Hello--

I am creating an InDesign Configurator panel that I would like to share with other designers on my team. The panel will contain multiple script files.  I was wondering: will it be possible to update the scripts contained within the configurator panel once it is published as a cs extension? or would I have to modify the scripts and then re-export the panel?

    Hi,

Effectively you need to modify the scripts and then re-export the panel.

Especially if you use the new "Export Panel As CS Extension" which mean that the ZXP is signed, so you couldn't modify is content without breaking the signature (which mean your panel doesn't work any more).

Plus, if you use the new Adobe Exchange plateform you access to the new update notification process, so your users will be notify directly inside the InDesign Adobe Exchange panel that you have updated something in your panel.

    Hope that help
