What does a "request" mean in the topnav code given in the section "Creating the Top Navigation Script with Textual Links" in the documentation provided for adobe day cq... I am new to developing... and i did not full understand the code given for top navigation...Could anyone please explain me about the top navigation code...
Thanks in advance...
The request is an impilict object in JSP used to get the values that the client passes (browser) to the web server during an HTTP request.
To begin with I would recomment to start with JSP and sling tuturial available online to understand better.
Thank you for replying.... Could you give me a url for the tutorial to sling....I have a jsp book which i am reading.....Is the Java Server Pages tutorial enough to understand the codings in adobe day cq...Do i have to learn anything else to understand adobe day cq codes....i come across JSON and OSGI Bundles while going through adobe day cq documentation...Could you please explain me these JSON and OSGI...I have studied JAVA as well as J2EE...
I used this tutorial when I learned JSP/Servlets. It is pretty good and goes into a lot of detail. It's also good to see what these concepts mean outside of the context of Adobe CQ5/Apache Sling, which add extra layers of architecture.
* I'm not sure what organization this course is affiliated with, but it isn't mine. Just something free that I found on my own that works well.
Not sure what you mean by "related to Adobe CQ". Just work through the documentation on the Apache Sling website. That's probably your best bet. It may be somewhat challenging without the fundamental understanding of JSP and servlets, which is why I suggested the other material. If you're asking for a quick and easy way to learn to do this stuff (and do it right), there isn't an answer. Just start digging in.
