Why can't I edit in design view?

Jul 19, 2012 10:12 PM

I just installed DW6 today and when I first started to edit in design view, everything was going fine.  Now, I am unable to click my mouse in the screen.  When I try, the div becomes surrounded in red and the cursor will not click in the screen.  I do NOT have the LIVE button clicked on but I know it must be something I've done.  I can't figure it out.  Can anyone help me?

Go to View > Style Rendering > turn off Display Styles.

Can you click in Design View, now?

Validate code and fix any reported errors.

    CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/

Now turn style rendering back on, and in Design view, simply DOUBLE CLICK on the element you want to edit.  Can you edit now?  If so, this is how any element that is styled with "overflow:hidden" will behave.  When that's the case, you cannot edit the contents of those elements without double clicking them (or right clicking and selecting ELEMENT VIEW > Full).
