I'm not getting audio from a ProRes Quicktime importing to Premiere or Media Encorder. Files do have audio when played with windows quicktime player or Sorenson Squeeze.
Premiere shows it has audio, just a flat line.
Premiere Pro 5.5
Quicktime player 7
1920x1080 Squrare Pixel
48000 Hz 24bit Mono
We import and use ProRes on Windows no problem. Do you have Quicktime installed on Windows? Quicktime for windows includes all the codecs for ProRes. Yes, they are read only, you can't export to them, but hey, it works for us all the time.
Thanks for comments. Again I can view the ProRes file with Quicktime Player but can't get Adobe products to play the audio, does play video.
Does anyone know if this is a HD 4444 or mono tack issue?
The files are conformed. I have different formats from the client that all work, SD quicktime, mp4 all have audio but this master HD edit. Thank you for your positive situation information from your location.
I do get audio from the Quicktime player, latest update. It does say that PP supports quicktimes if quicktime player is installed which makes you think that if the player works premiere would work. Media Encoder doesn't compress the audio as well which make me think it an Adobe issue. Does work with Avid AMA and Sorenson Squeeze.
I use ProRes every day with 5.5 and 6 and have no issues. The audio format for my ProRes files is actually also 24bit Mono with 16 channels and I have no issues. The reason I use it is because our BlackMagic Hyperdeck studio records stuff in this format... So obviously some wierd is going on in your specific scenario.
