I had this camera, Canon 50d, for little more than two years.
Now it is time to start working with Raw image and can't open the image with Photoshop.
But I could open with EOS utility but want to work with Photoshop.
thanks for reading and advice pleae
Photoshop CS2 will never directly open a Canon EOS-50D raw file. The raw files from every camera are different and your camera was designed after the Photoshop CS2 Camera Raw application stopped receiving updates.
This list is pertinent:

That said, there is a free solution that will allow you to open your images indirectly.
Just as an aside, the Camera Raw converter from the latest version of Photoshop delivers images of higher quality, so you may want to consider moving up to Photoshop CS6. Unfortunately you will have to pay full price; there's no Photoshop CS2 -> CS6 upgrade discount.

I had a strange thing happen recently where double clicking a 1DSMK3 RAW file was saying it was unsupported. This file had been opened before, so I knew it had been OK at one time. Eventually I opened it by right clicking and choosing Open with Photoshop. The file associations were OK, so I have no idea what was going on.

I mean ' CR2 raw file from canon and i'm using Photoshop cs4.
You should have no problem opening 50D images with Photoshop CS4. What's not working?
If you want to be able to double click the CR2 image, open Bridge, go into the File Type Associations preference, and change the application associated with CR2.

Works perfect......
It opened the door for me to start work with Raw imagesssss.

Download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter:

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5389 (PC)
I checked and show it like this, Canon Camera RAw( .crw, .cr2 ) Adobe Photoshop CS4.
When I clicked on image from Bridge then got this message
" Could not complete your request because it is not
the right kind of document....
Now I see , Camera Raw Preferences (version 5.0.0.17b) from Photoshop cs4
How can i set it up to read the Raw Imagesss
thanks for reading..
Yes, according to the table 5.1 or later is needed.
You'll want to update Camera Raw to 5.7. If Help - Updates in the Photoshop menu won't work, try going to this site and downloading the Camera Raw 5.7 for your system type. Follow Adobe's instructions...
