How Do I Change the Project Window Size?

Jul 21, 2012 2:00 PM

Hi,

1. I created a new Premiere Elements Project that was the default (720 x 480 px).

2. I then imported a render sequence that was smaller (640 x 360 px).

Q - I realize I should have made the new project (640 x 360px) before I imported my image sequence, but now how do I now change the project window size from (720 x 480 px) to (640 x 360 px)? Thanks.

You cannot change a project setting once you have created it. You would need to create a new project. But PRE does not offer a 640x360 option so you should probably try one of the 640x480 options under DSLR or Flip.

Is there no way to choose a “Custom” movie size?

Nope. CS6 Premiere Pro would allow you to. But you are then in the realms of prosumer, rather than consumer, product with a corresponding price hike.

I disagree with you that '640 x 360' is a standard movie image size. The options PRE offer cover most of the standard sizes for standard ; widescreen; high definition; and AVCHD in both NTSC & PAL as well as other popular formats for DSLRs, Flips, Camcorders (tape & non-tape). It does not offer 1920x1080p, but another contributor to these forums has developed the necessary setting files and made them available for free.
