I cannot update any of my Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection programs because the application manager will not connect. I've tried shutting down the firewall and haven't a clue as to which internet settings might be keeping it from updating. I've pretty much turned ALL security features "off" to try and get it to work. I don't have this problem on my laptop. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Any ideas?
You can update the applications in the suite manually, by downloading the updates from the Adobe website. At this point the only updates you are likely to see are security updates (nothing to sneeze at).
How do you know you are not connecting? Are you getting an error message? If so, please post. How are you connecting to the internet? Ethernet, wifi, direct to cable modem, cell phone?
I always get the same error message..."The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."
I am connecting via wifi. On my laptop, I use the same connection, but don't get the error message. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on both my laptop and desktop with the same anti-virus/firewall software.
