what to do when I can't install CS6 with valid serial number. Keep getting message that there's no product 'CS6'; only CS6 Extended. What to do?

Not able to undertand what you mean "there's no product 'CS6'; only CS6 Extended"

can you provide the exact error message and OS details.

I downloaded CS6 to my computer 1 week ago. When I put in my serial number to install, message says 'serial number valid,but can't find product. When I try to find CS6 from the list, all I can find is CS6 Extended. So I can't complete installation. Is that clear?

What product do you think you purchased. There is no product called CS6 Extended. Did you perhaps purchase Photoshop CS 6 or Photoshop CS 6 Extended. It appears you downloaded Photoshop CS 6 Extended and are trying to use a serial number for Photoshop CS 6. If you purchased Photoshop CS6 as a download from the Adobe store, then you should have been provided a link to the software. You can go back to the store and download from the link that should still be available to you.
