Hi everyone,
Earlier this week, Adobe Update Manager may have informed you that an update was available for Audition CS6. This update contained a new bug that broke the Dynamics Processing effect. We have prepared a new update which is available via the Adobe.com website.
If you have not yet updated Audition CS6, or have previously updated to the 5.0.1 build 6 patch, please download the latest 5.0.1 build 7 update from
Thank you for your support and please notify us if you experience any troubles downloading or installing the update.
Thanks for the follow-up in the OMF post. As mentioned there - and this has nothing to do with the patch - as of sometime this month, OMF export fails. As we discovered, there is a bug in Avid's OMF Toolkit which is used to build OMF sessions that generates GUIDs for generated clips based on the current date. As of July 12th or so, the algorithm starts spitting out negative numbers. (Why this function outputs a signed integer, I don't know, but havoc is wreaked on our end.) When I have more information about a patch, I'll follow-up at the usual spots (forums, twitter, facebook, blog, etc.)
.The linke points to a file that has the words trial in the patch zip. AuditionTrial-5.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.zip Is this the one for my paid version?

Hi RjRadio,
Sorry for any confusion. The file works on all release versions of Audition, including the Trial and activated editions.
Briefly, there is no difference between the Trial and Activated versions of Audition anymore. Au3 had a specific, time-limited trial version that could not be activated. If you chose to purchase it after the trial ran out, you were required to uninstall the trial and reinstall with a serial number. Audition CS6 (and 5.5) uses a single installer and implements the Adobe activation tools which allow for different activation states and configurations, depending on the serial number entered.
Good to know- that "trial" thing threw me too. Downloaded it and ran the patch, but 1st attempt it failed to install. Maybe this was because machine was online and so was trying to run an update checker or something in BG but unknown to us at the time, even though CS6 was not running when tried to apply the patch. Solution was shut machine down completely, cold reboot. Then apply prev. downloaded patch, which installed fine that time. All set with "build 7" now-- thx.

Strange - the in-program check for update does not flag that a patch is needed from Win 7(64) build 6 to build 7, but manually applying the patch works fine.
I just installed CS6 on a new machine, and had exactly the same experience. I think that there's a good chance that because of the problem with the previous build of the patch, it was de-linked from the updater, and the new one hasn't been linked yet. And I don't think it will be until we are generally sure that it doesn't cause any more problems!
