InDesign freezing when attempting simple functions

I am hoping there is someone out there who can help me. InDesign is repeatedly freezing when I try to add/delete  a page or make facing pages. This appears to be happening with just one file - a 29 page document. I am working with CS6 from Creative Cloud on a MacBook pro. This has also happened on a Mac Pro tower with 10gb RAM. I have to force quit every time.

I have spoken with Adobe online and tried the following fixes, none of which has worked:

http://blogs.adobe.com/indesignpost/2011/03/quick-tip-how-to-fix-corru pt-indesign-files/ I have tried to save as an IDML (technically creating a new file) but CS6 then couldn't open the new .idml file.

http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/troubleshoot-damaged-indesign-docum ents.html I have tried each suggestion on this page, including removing preferences.

I have also installed this script >  http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-crashes-blank-dialog-boxes .html

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. Recently, I tried to make a new document by moving pages 2 at a time. My last fix was to setup a facing page document and copy and paste all text boxes but no hyperlinks or linked images. I now have a 30+ page facing page doc but I cannot add/delete/change any pages without indesign freezing. I cannot make a printable document without this function. I'm out of ideas. Is there anyone that can help?

Looks like you've tried pretty much all the standard stuff. You can try opeing as a copy and repeating the .idml export, but don't hold your breath.

When all else fails, Markzware offers a damaged file recovery service. The have a takein charge for all files, then charge for recovery based on the size of the recovered file, if succesful. Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery Submission Form

David Dilling from Markzware has offered to discount the recovery fee on a trial basis for new users who learn about the service here on this forum. If you decide that it will make more sense to attmept recovery than to rebuild, include your forum username and the URL of this thread on the takein form.

The described symptoms are completely different from the problems covered in those two links.

    I agree with Peter ,

first the Indesign is not crashing its freezing ,

Secondly , it is document specific not application specific

You can try to open the file as "Copy " and then save the file with the new name and then check

othrwise you may create the new document and then copy and paste the content from the corrupt file to the New document as it may help.
