InCopy notes problem

Jul 23, 2012 8:47 AM

Hello to anybody,

I just realized that with InCopy CS6 (Mac & WIN) adding a note within a text behaves different to CS5.5.

Until CS6 the cursor was automatically placed within the note making it direct and easy to write the notification text.

Since CS6 the cursor is placed outside the marks of the note. That means, any text written is normal text.

Can anybody help me in finding out if this is a bug or a feature?

System installed are: Mac 10.7.4 with InCopy CS6, WIN7 with InCopy CS6. Both beahve exactly the same.

Kind regards

Karsten

Are you trying to create a note or edit one?

I prefer the notes panel or the story view for this.

Yep, you're right.  Weird!  I'd call it a bug.  A little bug but a bug.

    Let's report it here:

    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

Here's what I wrote in Bug Description:

    ******BUG******

Adding a Note in Story/Galley fails to put cursor inside note frame. It used to.

    Steps to reproduce bug:

    1. In story/galley, click inside text and choose Notes > New Note.

Cursor should appear inside note. Because of this bug people are frequently adding note text to live text inadvertently.

Feature works fine in Layout. Just galley/story.

Yes, I reported it. But they pay more attention when many people report the same bug. Otherwise they might think it's not really a bug ... just a random occurrence.

So please do report it! I copied/pasted what I wrote so you can use the same text if you want.
