Dreamweaver freezes - EasyRotator?

Dreamweaver freezes - It has been working fine until yesterday.  It opens up fine until an HTML file opens and the HTML Corrections  starts correcting invalid HTML code closing <img> tags. It freezes after the 3rd HTML correction. I downloaded the Dreamweaver 11.0.4 update, and reinstalled Dreamweaver but the problem still persists? The last thing I did on this page was to Insert an EasyRotator image extension on this page. Could this be part of the problem?

 

What else can I do?

    Restart your system.  Select a new site.  Open a new HTML page.  Try some edits.  Does DW freeze?  Does it freeze on any other page in any other site?

    Hi Murray,

     

    Unfortunately, I think I shut down my computer not realizing that Dreamweaver was still open with this html file still open, and the file was closed by Dreamweaver. So that each time I open Dreamweaver it automatically opening this html file then it starts correcting the invalid html code that causes the freezing process. I cannot get Dreamweaver to open to even try what you suggested.

     

    Any other ideas?

    Use your system's File Manager or Windows Explorer.

    Rename the problem html file so DW won't be able to find it on launch.

    Hi Nancy O.,

     

    We must have EST, I just did that, and it finally opened!  

     

    When I open EasyRotator will I be able to open the rotator I created for that page with the new file name or will I have to change the name back to the page name I inserted the rotator on?

     

    I really needed to get this program working

    Use the on-line validation tools to check the code in your problem page and fix any reported errors.

     

    When everything checks out, then use File > SaveAs old file name.
