CS4 on the iMac

What is the newest version of iMac that will run CS4? My old G5 PowerPro is dying with a bad logic board and need to buy a new computer, BUT I do not have the funds to upgrade CS4 to CS6 (like the Mac specialty repair shop is telling me). I need to know that latest version of iMac I need to purchase... any thoughts or ideas?

    CS4 should be fairly stable with a new machine. Anything earlier is going to be a complete crapshoot.

     

     

     

    I would consider an upgrade to CS6 via Creative Cloud. Intro pricing of $29.99/month for the first year is good through 8/31.

    Thanks for your speedy reply…  The service guys were telling me that if I purchased a new 21.5” or 27” with the 2.5 Ghz processor that CS4 would not run or even be able to be installed… interesting…

    That would be utter nonsense.

     

     

     

    I’m not saying it would run flawlessly and I have no idea what is going to happen with Moutain Lion.

    Thanks! This is a great help.  I’ve been in Desktop since it began (way too long ago), but have left the creative profession and am in corporate learning & development.  I’ve lost some of my ‘tech’ savvy and it’s great to be able to get questions answered!
