I have a completed project that was working fine until today. Now, when attempting a disk build or menu preview I get this message.
I have not included any wav files in the project.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I tried everything other than deleting project files from the project folder. All to no avail, so I re-keyed the project.
Following your suggestion, I deleted cache on the corrupted project - with no effect.
I looked in Transcodes and saw an mp3 that i play when the menu opens - along with an alien AC3 which had a name that looked like a name made up when Audition thinks it should be there and it is not!.
I checked similar projects, with the same mp3 and none had the AC3.
So I dleted the AC3 and bingo! the problem went away.
Unfortunately, I didn't record the name of the AC3, but I will know what to do next time.
Thanks for your help - I wouldn't have fiddled with the project data had you not suggested it.

Yes it was. Except it was a wav file when I used the Automatic preset.
And I have not solved the problem..... and it is driving me mad!
I have a Premiere Pro project of 17 sequences of our recent trip to China.
Size requires 3 disks.
So I have 3 Encore projects all using the same methodolog - simple picture imported from Photoshop.
Timelines linked to the appropriate Pr sequences.
I used the Progressive 2-pass VBR preset for them all. The first 2 built disk file and disks successfully.
The 3rd fails on this wierd message.
And it is the only one (of all En projects I have ever done) that has an additional ac3 or wav file in the Transcode folder.
I changed the Transcode to Automatic and it worked. Still has the strange file (wav this time).
The only thing different about this project is that it is the only one with 2 Pr sequences in one timeline. I'll take one out and see if that's the problem.
ac3's
A previous trancode put an ac3 as well as the transcoded files.
The Automatic transcode put a wav there.
The only mp3 I've seen is the one I linked to the menu audio to play when it loads.
I've just replaced the timeline with 2 Pr sequences to 2 timelines with a sequence each, and kicked off the Progressive Hi Q 2 pass build. (The one that fails). I'll let you know what happens when it finishes in 1.5 hours.
Success!
The project completed a successful build when there was only one Ps sequence per timeline.
And the wierd ac3/wav was not included in the Transcode folder.
In other words, it behaved just like the 2 similar projects before it - each also only one Pr per timeline.
I'll experiment with multi sequence timelines. Maybe there were disparate audio tracks in the Pr sequences, which En could not handle.
