Hello,
We publish tons of eLeaning and would like to include the proper html and javascript within our captivate template so it's automatically included everytime I publish to launch in a new window at a specific size (900x640). We currently include this code in an interface for clients manually afterward but many times our clients don't use the interface becuase they upload our eLearning to SharePoint and need to link to each eLearning module individually. I would like to build this functionality into our template so that everytime we publish it's built into the html and javascript file for each eLearning module. How/where would I do this and what would it look like? Thanks in advance!
I believe you're thinking of the standard.htm file, that is used as a template when movies are published. Look in the Adobe Captivate program files folders.
I have an FAQ of sorts on this file in my Adobe Captivate FAQs.
However, JavaScript won't work the way you're thinking. The JavaScript must be executed on the page that contains the hyperlink that opens the Captivate HTML page (i.e. the SharePoint page.). Browsers don't allow for JavaScrip to resize the window of the Captivate page itself. In other words, Window resize functions can only happen in a JavaScript-opened popup window.
Have you thought about creating a custom package that includes a HTML landing page linked from SharePoint. That page would contain let's say a title, description of course, and a button with the JavaScript code to launch the Captivate in the size you want. Essentially, it's just one more page the user would access before the Captivate.
