I got the email that Lightroom is now available. I downloaded it, but then it did not appear in the Adobe Application Manager--so I had no way of installing it. And, I have no idea where in my computer it was downloaded to.
So how do I install it, if I can find the download?
Thanks.
Does you computer meet the minimum system requirement to install the Lightroom?
find the tech specs here
Vista Home Premium.
I've had no problems downloading and installing other programs. After I've downloaded them, they appear in the Adobe Installation Manager (AIM), with an option to "Install." I've tried to download Lightroom 3 times. Each time, the download seems to go OK, but Lightroom does not show up in AIM--and I can't find the download in either my Downloads folder; in Users/[username]/AppData/Local/Temp; or in Windows/Temp.
Update your AAM and then check :-

Maybe (?) you have the same problem as I did a week ago : cfr. discussion 11 july 3.13 :
With Firefox it didn't worked at all and when I tried in Safari everything worked fine.
Go to apps in the cloud - just click the icon on your left in the top and the Adobe Application Manager will start autom.
Greets.
Couple other things to consider / possible explanations
Note the processor and service pack requirements, these are sometimes overlooked, older Mac's with older PowerPC processors won't work.
Also ensure you are scrolling to the bottom of the AAM Window, there is a very thin, easy to overlooked, dark grey scroll bar on the right-hand side of the Adobe Application Manager window. Lightroom might be overlooked in the list in some screen resolutions.
These are a couple other things to check.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm on a PC, well within the
requirements, and I double-checked the scroll bar--but still no success.
Lightroom is the only program that's giving me this problem.
I downloaded and installed the Trial version, and hope that when the trial
period is up Lightroom should automatically connect with my license. If not,
I'll call Tech Support.

Hi Aaron,
Yeah that is strange, did already install the version of Adobe Application Manager from here?

Hi Tesha,
I cross referenced your email address with orders and saw that you had a subscription to Photoshop but I didn't see Creative Cloud. Did you upgrade to Creative Cloud under a different email address? Lightroom is only included with a subscription to Creative Cloud not Photoshop by itself. Maybe thats why. Its not available with the trial of Creative Cloud either, although one can download the standard Lightroom trial separately like Aaron described.
Maybe thats whats happening?
-Dave
Hi Tesha,
I did some more investigation and it looks like you do indeed have a subscription to Photoshop CS6 not Creative Cloud. For Photoshop CS5 there were two versions available for subscription, Standard and Extended. With the release of CS6 things changed a little, Photoshop CS6 Extended is no longer available for subscription by itself, but Photoshop CS6 standard still is. Based on how your account appears, it looks like you still have a Photoshop Standard subscription. I don't know exactly what happened with the email you recieved about being grandfathered to Creative Cloud. Customers that had Photoshop CS5 Extended were grandfathered over but not Photoshop CS5 Standard. Maybe you were sent the email in error or there was some misunderstanding, the whole process is kind of confusing. Sorry to be the bearer of the news
. You could still upgrade to Creative Cloud if you wanted, but it would be another $10 a month approx. (yearly subscription) and think you would have Lightroom then.

Ok...here I am a month later with the problem unsolved.
ReCap: Lightroom does not download and install. It downloads, but does not show up in Adobe Application Manager. And, I cannot find the downloaded in my computer,
What I have tried:
AND NOW, a couple of days ago I received a Creative Cloud email about updates for Illustrator, Muse, and Edge Animate preview--and same sort of problems:
So I am still unable to install Lightroom, and now am unable to open, update, or re-install Edge.
Thanks Steve, but unfortunately it didn't work. I tried twice.
Here's what I experienced:
1.-2. I signed out of AAM and quit AAM
3. I Logged In to Adobe.com and went to https://creative.adobe.com/apps --where I
4. Clicked on Lightroom Download
5. AAM opened, and asked me to Sign In.
AAM then loaded and opened--but, again, no Lightroom in the list, and no Downloading activity on my computer.
( Previously, Lightroom did seem to Download, but after the download was completed,
I could not find the downloaded file and AAM showed nothing. )
